Story
Keeley needs your help to make her wishes come true.
She is 7 years old and has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy which gives her painful muscle tightness in her legs, despite her disability she has three very special wishes...
- To walk
- To play in the park with her friends
- To become a cheerleader like her mummy
Keeley
was born 8 weeks premature and was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral
Palsy at 2 years old.
Keeley’s one wish is to walk. To help her get her wish Keeley has been
reccommended for an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR - http://www.gosh.nhs.uk/medical-information/procedures-and-treatments/selective-dorsal-rhizotomy)
SDR will release the stiffness in her legs and give her permanent flat feet. This will help her sit, make transitions between postures, and her standing and walking will also improve. The operation has a 100% success rate and Doctors expect Keeley will be able to walk after a course of intense specialist physiotherapy, which will dramatically improve her standard of living and enable her to follow her dreams.
Anyone interested in helping the Keeley's Wishes Appeal is asked to contact Caudwell Children on 01782 600114 or to donate online visit www.justgiving.com/keeleywishes
Important note to donors: As long as Keeley requires the funds raised to pay for SDR treatment and post-operative rehabilitation, Caudwell Children will manage all payments of funds for the family. Should there come a time, for whatever reason, that Keeley no longer requires the funds raised then the monies raised will be used to provide similar donations to sick and disabled children living within the UK through the charity, Caudwell Children.
