We have decided to run for Butterwick Hospice Care after hearing about the children's hospice funding crisis.  This is one of many events Chris will run this year and the only one Karen intends to do!  We have joined forces, Chris much better at training and Karen much better at organising the logistics of it all.  By reminding each other of our responsibilities (esp Chris making Karen train) we should do well!!  Chris aims to run a good time and Karen just get round with no sneaky walking!  But both aiming to raise a lot of money for Butterwick Children's Hospice!

 

It is really important we raise lots of money and help the children's hospice provide "home from home" care in a modern, purpose built building. They provide care to families who face uncertainty over their child's future because of their medical needs. They offer an environment where babies, children, teenagers and their families are able to feel safe, to have the opportunity to play, to have fun, to be listened to and supported. The charity also needs our support now more than ever as a three year grant of £150,000 from the New Opportunities Fund ran out in March 2006.  With running costs of around £700,000 and only 5% of this cost made up of statutory funding it is vital that people like you and us help in any way we can.
