We raise life-changing funds to enhance care at UHS

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My friend has a dear nephew, Joe (11) who is being looked after by this Paediatric Oncology Ward in Southampton. It is called The Piam Brown Ward and it has it's own Charity. They look after kids age 0  to 16 who have cancer. A third of these are kids with Leukaemia like Joe. The money raised goes DIRECTLY to the ward to help make life a little bit better for all the kids. It can pay for trips out to, say, watch a football match (if they are strong enough) or can be used to improve the library in the hospital school, or provide a 'hang out'  living area for the teenagers. These things can help make their difficult days more tolerable, and we need to help keep them smiling! It's tough going through all the treatment needed to beat Leukaemia.

Last weekend I achieved my goal of wheeling my poor old body 192 miles up and down many many hills around the outside of London. It was gruelling, but worth it.

I thank you all for donating so generously. I will be presenting the ward with the donations within the next month. You are all incredibly kind. Thank you.
