Story
We are 3 students at Kings College London and we have recorded the Kings for Haiti Album in order to raise money for the DEC following the devastating earthquake that occurred in Haiti last month. The DEC is an umbrella organisation of all the major UK aid agencies. Its aim is to unite efforts in times of disaster- such as flood, earthquake or famine- wherever it happens in the world. As students we wondered what we could do in order to help make a difference and this record was the end result. There are two songs, a cover of "Let it Be" by the Beatles and an original song called "The Sun Will Rise Again." Please buy our music using the link below and all profits will go directly to the DEC. We also ask you to make a suggested donation of £3 through this Justgiving page and we thank you for your generosity.
The album can be bought from Amazon.co.uk's mp3 store using the following link:

We get 49p per song sold on Amazon, or 98p for the album, so we have created this Justgiving page with a suggested donation of £3 to help raise more money for Haiti than we can get through Amazon alone. Please be generous in your giving and donate as much as you can.
How your money can help:
On 12th January 2010, a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti including the capital Port-Au-Prince. Although there is as yet no accurate assessment of the death toll, millions of people live in the affected area. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and substantial humanitarian assistance will be required to ensure survivors get food, clean water, shelter, medical care and other support.
Your donation will go to the DEC which in turn will send money to each agency. It may go towards household kits and essential food supplies, it may go towards ensuring that people have shelter and medical treatment, as well as clean water supplies and adequate sanitation. About the Record:
The idea for this charity record, started only a few weeks ago when we recorded the backing tracks for "Let it Be." We saw Let it Be as a song which on one hand may help people through times of difficulty and pain, it also can give people a sense of hope in the midst of despair. The song also encompasses the idea that there will be an answer, and in a way we have seen that answer in through the global relief effort towards Haiti. We choose this song as part of our way of making a difference.
The second song,"The Sun Will Rise Again" was written as a mixture of a lullaby and a prayer. It is a song that tries to give a sense of comfort in a time of distress and it also has an uplifting feel to it, a sense that human strength and compassion will prevail in the face of such a disaster.
We hope you enjoy listening to these songs, and that they will make a small difference to the people of Haiti in their time of need.
Thank-you for taking the time to visit the "Kings for Haiti" JustGiving page.
All profits from the sale of this album will be given directly to the DEC, and we would like to thank you for your generosity.
