At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.

Story

I am unable to fathom the vastness of the devastation caused by the recent natural disaster in Haiti, not just in terms of the immediate and intense pain of the event, but also the enduring and far reaching consequences that this brave nation will now have to battle to overcome.

But, in a time of economic fragility the generous response of so many people has been truly overwhelming. Not just in light of their considerable donations, but also in demonstrating that there is never a wrong time to do the right thing.

I have the awesome privilege of playing football for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies football club, and while this is on a strictly non-professional basis, I would like to use the opportunities I have been given in sport to help the ongoing rescue and restoration process in Haiti.

For every goal that I score for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies, from now until the end of the season, I will donate £10 towards the Haiti earthquake appeal. If you would like to match my donation, or contribute any amount you feel able, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
