In March 2006 we had a charity run to raise funds for the New Hope Orphanage in Kenya. The inspiration behind the name "Knickers to Africa" was that we were trying to raise money to send clothes out to the orphanage. Underwear was especially needed as that was in short supply.

In March this year six of us will be visiting New Hope; John Forsythe, Cath Hurst, Katie Doyle, Claire Nicklin, Mary Leigh and Seamus Sloan. We would like to raise some money towards building a much needed dormitory for the boys. We are almost there but to get us a little nearer the £5000 we need to raise, we are planning another run/walk - Knickers to Africa II. The golden rule is that Knickers should preferably be worn OUTSIDE your running gear!
