The Alzheimer’s Society and their sister charity, Alzheimer Scotland, exist to champion the rights of people with dementia and those who care for them. Their vision is of a radically improved world for people with dementia. A world, ultimately, where dementia can be defeated.

Dementia isn’t just memory loss – it’s the slow failure of the brain.  It can strike in your 40s and 50s, and in time people with dementia need help to do everything: walk, eat and even swallow.

The Society's fight for a better world for people with all types of dementia. Through their branches, they touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers. And every year, more than a million people make use of the information they provide.

Through campaigning and lobbying they strive to influence government policies and raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with dementia and the people who care for them. And through their research programme they work to improve the knowledge they have about dementia and its treatment - and pursuing the ultimate goal of finding a cure.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
