As a group of Mum's who get together and walk for 5 miles in the evenings, we have set ourselves a challenge for 2010.  SNOWDONIA....

We completed the Moonlit Walk last summer and then asked ourselves "What next" and Snowdon was the answer.

On Saturday 22nd May, myself and 6 of my close friends will be walking Snowdon and hoping to raise money and awareness for some charities that are very close to our hearts.

 I am supporting BASIC'S as on the 20th August 2008 my life was changed forever. On this day my Dad was killed in a road accident. BASIC's doctors attended the scene. Unfortuantly they where unable to save my Dad due to the severity of his injuries. However on this day they were able to save my Dad's cycling buddies life who was also involved in this acident. Pete was able to be treated at the scene this meant that he has lived and his family have not lost a husband,father or brother. If BASIC's had not been able to get to the scene Pete would not be alive today. This is how valuable thier work is .

 

This why I am supporting BASIC'S. They provide medical care for trauma and seriously ill patients at the scene of the accident /incident. They are a group of doctors/nurses and specalists who volunter to do this work. The charity relies on voluntary donations to provide all their medical equipment and vehicles. www.hants.gov.uk/basics
