Hopefully you know about the fantastic charity City Gateway and the great work they are doing across Tower Hamlets to improve the opportunities for the disadvanataged communities and bridge the gap between the City and the estates which sit in the shadows of the skyscrapers.

Our Women's project struggles for any funding despite working with nearly 1000 women who have often had little or no education and hence cannot be independant, support their children through school and make the impact they want to in their communities.  Working with local womens refuges, running a creche, developing a catering enterprise and running accredited english and IT courses are just a handful of activities this hard working team run.  They need support though and every penny raised here will go towards this.  They have helped vulnerable and scared women change their lives and the lives of their families.  There are problems on our doorstep that we need to deal with!

You can also help by getting involved with volunteering individually or through your company, or sending this around to some of your friends ;)

I am running 26.2 miles in the Amsterdam marathon for them (as well as for a Bowel cancer charity) and would hugely appreciate your support.  Make my early mornings worthwhile!
