Fundraising for JDRF
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This April I will be running the London marathon with the intention of raising some much needed funds for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF are a charity dedicated to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes which affects over 25,000 children in the UK. These kids are at significant risk of kidney failure, adult blindness, stroke, heart attacks and nerve damage leading to amputation, they also rely on numerous insulin injections and pump infusions every day just to stay alive. You can find out more about the charity and their work through their website; www.jdrf.org.uk I watched the marathon with a crippling hangover last year and thought it was something I’d like to have a go at. I swiftly forgot about that and continued my strict regime of nights out on the lash, plenty of KFC and very little gym for the majority of 2009 before deciding (again after a few beers) to sign up a few weeks ago. I’m determined to get round in one piece and in a respectable time, to prove my determination I have swapped my much loved nights out in the pub for jogs around Slough, that’s commitment so please get donating! Please do dig deep as this is a really worthy cause to hopefully eradicate a lot of suffering that these kids go through. Many thanks, Birinder
