Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As some of you may know, for the past two years I've been going on and on about this amazing charity in Ghana. Now I'm finally doing something about it! On October 12th, I'll be running in the Great Eastern Run, a half-marathon in Peterborough. Its probably going to hurt, a lot, so if only to keep me going during training, please donate as little or as much as you like to help me raise money.
More importantly, your money will be helping to make a real difference to children's lives. Afrikids was set up by a family friend about ten years ago. In that time, Afrikids has done incredible work in the Upper East region of Ghana, one of the poorest areas in the country. The children they help have a real chance of a bright future. Afrikids is based on a commitment to make all their projects sustainable so that, one day, they will not need to rely on funding from elsewhere. In the meantime, any help we can provide really makes a difference to these communities. Please visit www.afrikids.org to find out more about the charity and the work they do.
"possibly the most risky place on earth to live during infancy...children die of malnutrition here. Measles, diarrhoea, lung infection, its all real here, it's not some faraway place."
Dr Fred Binka, World Health Organisation
