Devil's Hike · 6 July 2015

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Monday 6th July, 230 staff and students from Newmarket Academy are walking the full length of Devil's Dyke in Cambridgeshire in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. The Hike will lead us from Reach to Woodditton and on to Stetchworth, which is about 8 miles and represents a real challenge to the students.

We are grateful to the Jockey Club for allowing us to picnic at the July Course, to the Ellesmere Centre for hosting us at the end, and to both Waitrose & Tesco for providing fruit and water for the journey.

Several staff have been affected by GOSH. Both Mr. Froy and Mr. Rogers were patients at the hospital as children, while Mrs. Bennett's daughter was also a patient. My own nephew had heart surgery there in 2014, so it also has a special place in my heart.

Dig deep if you can. Any donations are gratefully received.
