Story

Leek United Building Society Team to Climb 24 Lake District Peaks in 24 Hours

Five colleagues from Leek United (including the Chief Executive, Kevin Wilson) backed up by two support crew, have pledged to raise over £5,000 for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) by undertaking a gruelling challenge, scaling 24 peaks in the Lake District in just 24 hours.

The challenge will involve climbing over 13,000 feet of ascent and walking over 30 miles come rain or shine over a September weekend! For those who know a thing or two about the Lake District we will be scaling Great Gable, Helvellyn, Fairfield and the mighty Scafell Pike to name just a few.

This is a real challenge for all team members as it will be very tough going but we are all determined to succeed and have been training for some weeks now in order to prepare ourselves physically and mentally.

Our aim is to raise over £5,000 for deaf children and their families across the UK, we are therefore appealing for your support by pledging a few pounds to this great cause.

Many thanks for your support from the team at Leek United.
