We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for visiting Dave ,Tim & Kevin's fundraising web site.

We are planning to cycle from Land End to John O' Groat's( LEJOG)  commencing 4 th September 2009 and completing this challenge  on 21st September 2009 . We aim to raise a minimum of  £2,250 for the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease. This charity is close to Dave's heart as his partner Deb has a 10 year old son Sam. He has suffered severely with Crohn's disease for the last 6 years and will continue to do so unless a cure is found.

180,000 people suffer with Crohn's disease and Colitis in the UK, Crohn's disease and Colitis is a form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease where the wall of the bowel becomes swollen, inflamed and ulcerated. Symptoms vary but can include severe pain in the abdomen, weight loss, continual diarrhoea ( sometimes with blood or mucus) and exhaustion. The cause of Crohn's is unknown and there is no cure.

The idea of Lejog came from Tim and Kevin who have recently retired and felt the desire to set themselves a  personal challenge inspired by their love of cycling.

Dave was lucky enough to be invited to join them and they unanimously decided to raise money for The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease.
