To say I started with no target amount, I am doing well!! I have set a new target though, as I believe I can reach it - £250 is the new target!! Please keep the donations coming, it is for a really worthy cause!!
Less than 3 weeks to go!! You will hear me going on about it alot more in the next few weeks thats for sure!!

UPDATE - 4th Aug - Thank you to everybody who has donated or put their name down to sponsor me so far! I really do appreciate your support, as I am sure the Overgate Hospice does too!! Now... can I get to £200?? It would be a great achievement if I can!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am doing the Great North Run on Sunday 19th September 2010 and would like you to sponsor me please.
When I decided to enter the Great North Run, I can only describe it as a weak point, a moment of madness; what was I thinking? Run 13 miles? A big lad like myself? Bungle the Bear? It's just not going to happen... but I entered and was finally accepted! So no turning back now!
I didn't plan to do it for Charity, more just for myself but then I spoke to an old friend (hopefully she won't mind me calling her old) who asked if I would do it in aid of the Overgate Hospice, based in Elland.
This is a local charity to me and although I have not had family members who have had to spend time there, I am aware of countless other people who have. The work they do is amazing and full credit must go all of the staff who work there, and the many other volunteers who help.
As it is a charity, Overgate relies very heavily on the local community to raise the £5,000 needed each day so that they can continue to provide the best care possible, and the support is never taken for granted.
Since 1981 Overgate Hospice has provided specialist care for people in Calderdale who have a life limiting illness. They are not doctors, so they cannot add days to patients lives, but with our support, the staff can add life to the days of all patients, helping people to make the most of the time they have left.
So enough of me rambling... time for me to hit the road, and time for you to please dig deep and help me raise lots of money for a truly worthy cause.
Thank you in advance!
Leon
