ANNAPURNA CHALLENGE - JANUARY 2008
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page
With both kids now away at uni I've been be making some tracks of my own... trekking in the Annapurnas (Himalayan Range, Nepal) in a team of six to raise funds for CMS has been an amazing experience.
Among other projects, CMS workers are currently providing medical support to remote villages in the Mizo region of India and caring for street children in Nepal.
This is the first time I've done any hiking on this kind of scale and I'm really thankful for the opportunity. The walking was quite hard in places - pretty steep - but we were helped by the cheerful, friendly sherpas who really looked after us. The camaraderie among our entire team was wonderful, we felt like a family. I can recommend a trip like this to anyone.
The response to this page has been slow so far but I'm not disheartened as there is still plenty of time for donations: many leaflets have been distributed with help freely given by Staples. Donating through this site is a really good way to support me as it is simple, fast and totally secure; plus if you pay UK tax an extra 28% will be added at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now. My target is £3000 - any amount will be greatly appreciated by me and CMS - and it's all in a really good cause.
Thank you for your kind support.
With love
Linda
