BLENHEIM TRIATHLON - 7th JUNE 2008

I am pleased to report that we all finished on Saturday and had an amazing time!!!

Linzi would like to thank both Ben and Georgie for choosing to raise money for my chosen charity: the National Association of Colitis and Crohns Disease.

Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns Disease are both forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).  There are 180,000 people in the UK who suffer  from them.  In both conditions the wall of the bowel becomes swollen, inflamed and ulcerated.  Symptoms vary but can include sever pain in   the abdomen, weight loss, continual diarrhoea and exhaustion.              

The causes of UC and Crohn's are unknown and there is no cure.

These are life-changing conditions that often start in teenagers and young adults, although in some cases it can start during childhood and lasts for a lifetime with the disease flaring-up at unpredictable times.

The NACC offers support and information to people of all ages who have Colitis or Crohns Disease and has helped many thousands of people with IBD since its formation in 1979.  The charity raises funds for vital medical research to identify the casues and improve treatment, and also works to increase awareness and understanding of the conditions.

This service is vital to all sufferers including me - Lindsey.
