Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Raphael's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

St Raphael's Hospice has annual costs of £50,000 just to provide essential medication to terminally ill patients.  These drugs alleviate much suffering and provide people with a significant improvement in their quality of life.

The hospice services not only include an inpatient unit, plus outpatient clinic, but also day care and a Community Palliative Care Team. Patients can also visit for a few days of respite care or to have their medication adjusted to help symptoms and then return home. Each year the medical and nursing teams provide care for more than 900 patients.

This is a charity that we all hope that we (and our families) will never need.....but one that we hope will be there if ever we do.  The Hospice is reliant upon fundraising to provide the services.

By way of doing a 5+ mile walk at midnight on 20th September, my sponsorship will go some way to help raise these funds.
