Story

Hi and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  You are probably here because you received my letter, but if not, here’s a brief description of our fundraising project:

I am raising funds through the Sakya Buddhist Centre in Bristol (Thinley Rinchen Ling Trust) to help a group of nuns who are Tibetan refugees living near Dehra Dun in Northern India.  It’s the sincere wish of His Holiness Sakya Trizin (the head of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism) to establish a college to provide these nuns with the opportunity to obtain a more in-depth Buddhist education, thus creating a new generation of highly-educated women practitioners.  This is of vital importance for the survival and flourishing of the Buddha’s teaching.  Funds are needed to pay teachers' fees, as well as towards the accommodation, and food and robes for both the nuns and the teachers when the college opens in September 2009.

If you’d like more information, please feel free to contact me by email: liz.godfrey@dechen.org.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.  It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanking you for your kind generosity.

Liz

PS. I would just like to say a big thank you to all those who have so kindly donated up to now - anonymous and others - you know who you are. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
