Story
Thank you so much for donating to a charity that is close to my heart.
No one and nothing can prepare you for having a premature baby. My son, Dylan, was born 2 months early in July 2005, weighing only 2lb 15oz. He spent the first 9 weeks of his life in the Special Baby Care Unit at Stirling Royal Infirmary and had many set backs along the way - he could not breathe on his own, he was on life saving antibiotics, caught MRSA, had blood transfusions, heart scans and brain scans, hernia, RSV to name but a few!. Being such a sick little baby I was not able to hold or cuddle him for the first few weeks of his life and I had to feed him via a tube.
5 years on, I am lucky to say that Dylan has grown into a smart, clever, cheeky little live wire with no side affects from his premature arrival to the world. Others are not so lucky.
The help, support and guidance from both the nurses at SRI and Bliss baby charity helped me focus all my strength and energy into making sure my son pulled through those first few traumatic weeks of his life.
PLEASE DIG DEEP - I will be running my socks off for all those little babies and their families and would welcome your support. xxx
