Story

Hi everyone & welcome to my page.....

As many of you already know running has become a real passion of mine. Thanks to the support of my family and encouragement from my friends at Burnham Joggers I completed three half marathons in 2013.

It has been my ambition to run the London Marathon for a while now and the Burnham Beeches Rotary Club have given me a fantastic opportunity to run this iconic Marathon on the 13th April 2014. I am supporting Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” campaign.

In 1985 Polio was endemic in 125 countries and 1000 new cases were reported every day. Polio mainly affects children under five years of age, so having two healthy children close to this age, reminds me how lucky we are in this country, fortunately today Polio is close to being eradicated.

Rotarians from around the world continue to contribute money, volunteer their time, and give their expertise to the polio eradication effort but more funds are needed to support annual National Immunization Days.

I would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor me to run the London Marathon. Every £1 you give will immunize five children and every penny will go towards ending polio.

I know this is going to be a real challenge especially during the cold winter months, when I’d rather been curled up on the sofa than pounding the streets in freezing conditions clocking up the miles! However I hope you’ll agree that the “End Polio Now” campaign is a great cause to support.

So look out for me running around Burnham, with Missy in tow (my chocolate Labrador!) I’m sure those long cold runs will be fond memories once I’ve crossed the finish line of the London Marathon.

Thanks for taking the time to view my page. X
