Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After conquering Kilimanjaro, I've decided to take on another challenge and run the London Marathon. However this time it's not just for my own selfish reasons - I'm raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action.
As many of you know, my Mum bravely fought the disease for a year and a half before passing away. By the time she was diagnosed with the cancer, it had already spread too far to hope for a cure - it was just a question of how long she had left.
Sadly, this is a familiar story with Ovarian Cancer - many women are diagnosed too late. Although it is the fourth most common cancer for women, the real problem lies in the fact that it is notoriously difficult to diagnose - even a yearly health check up might not be enough. Only 30% are alive 5 years after diagnosis, a statistic that has not improved over 30 years.
So I'd be extremely grateful if you could donate whatever you feel is right. Hopefully my emotional blackmail has been effective and I'll be showered with donations in no time! Probably not actually, but you can always live in hope. I'll be updating this page regularly with amusing anecdotes about my running adventures, so please come back for the latest hilarious stories.
