Story

Hello, welcome, and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

On the weekend of 15th - 16th August 2009 (date has been pushed back due to unavoidable circumstances), Duncan Mitchell and I will be attempting to summit all 15 of the 3,000+ ft Peaks in Snowdonia in the punishingly short time frame of under 24 hours!!!

The Challenge, also know as the "Welsh 3000s", is a route of around 30 miles and includes over 14,000ft of ascent. The Challenge is both physically and mentally demanding, as well as being extremely dangerous - we will be starting at around 3am and therefore navigating in the dark.

We have each chosen separate charities to support through the Challenge, and I would like to raise money for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Pembury Hospital (part of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust). This Unit holds a special place in my family's heart; if it weren't for the amazing facilities and staff at this unit then I wouldn't be here today. I am completing the Challenge in memory of my twin brother Ben, who couldn't keep up the fight despite the immense efforts of those at SCBU.

Please support me, and donate (even just a little bit) - all money raised will contribute towards the treatment of babies within the unit. Tick the Gift Aid box, and 25% will be added to your donation.

Thank you very, very much,

Luci

About the charity

We raise vital funds to make MTW Hospitals an outstanding, patient friendly provider by providing additional equipment, services and amenities, above what the NHS can currently provide, improving the care received and health outcomes across the areas in which the Trust operates.
