Story
The marathon's over but the sponsoring isn't!!! I completed it within my target time of 5 hours and finished in 4 hours 29 minutes and that didn't include any walking!!!
The sore back, killer hamstrings and painful blisters were worth it, and i'd consider doing it again next year!
I would just like to thank all of those who have sponsored me already and I am sure it will make a worthwhile contribution to the hospices!!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I decided to run the Flora London marathon as it was a personal achievement and had been a goal I always wanted to do. I chose this year to take part, as i had the added incentive of a close friend running alongside me in training and in the race. Also, I had the time to train whilst I wasn't competing through British Eventing which is what I normally do!
Despite this, I thought it would be a great way to raise funds for Havens Hospices. Having been to Little Havens, I feel it is a invaluable haven for young children and is a much deserved charity. Fair Havens is also a much needed charity that requires our money now to keep it running in the future.
Why should you support Me?
Well, here are just a few reasons…
1. I took on a gruelling training regime at the same time as doing my sports studies degree. This means spending my spare time going running rather than chilling out.
2. It would be a really really nice thing to do!
3. The Marathon was not easy. It consisted of 26.2 miles pounding the streets of London followed by aches, pains and blisters!
4. I am supporting Havens Hospices which is the joint name for Fair Havens Hospice and Little Havens Children's Hospice, as they can help add life to days where days cannot be added to life!
