The reason I am fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society is because of Mum (pictured left). She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and now requires 24 hour care in a Nursing Home

When Mum was diagnosed nearly two years ago she was denied the drug Arocept due to funding reasons. Arocept along with other drugs can slow down the rapid degeneration of the brain and whilst there is evidence to prove this, not sufficient enough to warrant these drugs being freely available to all Alzheimer's patients without further research being conducted

Mum & Dad have been married 51 years and watching the family go through this experience has been heartbreaking.

So from Jan 2008 I will be suffering hours in the gym and walking many miles around the UK to get myself "goat-like" for the trek up Kilimanjaro in September
