Marathon Des Sables March 2009 - Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. The Marathon Des Sables is the Toughest Foot Race on Earth, 152 miles in 6 days through the Sahara Desert, running in temps of 40C and yes I will be carrying everything on my back! I must be mad. To compete in the Marathon Des Sables has been a huge ambition for me. I took up running to get fit after I had a snowboard accident in 2001, where I injured my back. I have always felt very lucky to have recovered fully and become fitter than I ever was before the accident.
