Story
Hello and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
This year I turned forty and, now that I’m over the shock, I intend to mark my ‘significant birthday milestone’ by doing something memorable, maybe even life-changing. I’ll be undertaking a 10-day challenge, trekking through the Andes to Peru’s famous lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It promises to be an extremely testing physical challenge as me and others on the trip will be trekking and camping in remote, mountainous conditions with limited facilities (such as toilets!)
But that is nothing compared to the challenge 822 people face every day in the UK when they’re told they have cancer, or the one in three of us who will be diagnosed at some point in our lives. Having worked for Macmillan for over five years, I know all about the incredible work that Macmillan Cancer Support does to help people living with cancer. When you're living with cancer, the good days really matter. Your donation will help Macmillan to help everyone with cancer take the first step towards more good days and provide the practical, medical, emotional and financial support that makes a real difference to people living with cancer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe - JustGiving will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. If you’re a UK tax payer, please don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation which, at no extra cost to you, will add another 25% to the value of the donation.
Thank you so much for your donation, I really appreciate you taking the time to sponsor me. 2011 is Macmillan's centenary year and your donation will enable us to keep helping people living with cancer for the next 100 years. If you’re interested in finding out more about Macmillan, you can check out their site here.
Thank you once again, Deborah x
