Story

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

Tommo, Blacky, Will and Simon , hope you can make a donation to help us reach our target of GBP4000 / HKD 50,000.

At 11am on Friday Nov 20th , our team,
a collection of old and broken rugby players, will set out on a 100km 'stroll' across, up and down the hills of the New Territories in Hong Kong. The journey starts near Sai Kung in the north east before winding westward crossing four National Parks along the length of the longest marked trail in HK. The event is now known as "Oxfam Trailwalker",  though locally as The Maclehose , named after the trail on which it runs.  Originally an endurance training exercise for soldiers, Oxfam took over organisation in 1986 and was opened to the public.  Through the years, Oxfam Trailwalker has become one of the largest fundrasing sports events in HK with more than 62,000 participants raising ~HK$290mm / GBP24mm to support Oxfam's  poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects in Africa and Asia, including HK and mainland China.

Oxfam Trailwalker is a challenging team event. The team will be looking to complete the 100km route in about 20 hours. It's not just the distance as much as the elevation and killer hills along the way that have to be overcome.  Please see the links below for some further info
