Update
Thank you to all who have donated, just read my page or have done other things to help people.
I will be setting off on the trip next Friday (14th May), so I am really looking forward to it.
There will be blog up at some stage (if I dont have access to the web as I go) and I will complete a small write up as well :-)

Thanks again,
will

Who am I?

My name is William Maginn and I work, live and cycle in .

I was born and raised in , I spent my early school years in a small village primary school in Ballinamallard, upon completing my 11+ I moved to Portora Royal Grammar in Enniskillen, where I did my GSCEs and A-Levels.

In 2006 I moved to to complete my computing degree at the , and have loved living and working here ever since.

Why?

Being happy is something I cherish and the happiness of others even more so, for most people life is a short and fast paced experience filled with fun and joy and it is all too easy to forget about others in need. By doing this trip and challenging myself mentally and physically I hope to bring at least some happiness to those who need it far more than I do.

I chose Cancer Research as the charity because as it directly affects many of us daily.

What & When?

My challenge is to cycle unsupported from John O’Groats in to Land’s End in . I will be camping most of the journey with maybe 1 or 2 B&Bs or Holiday Inn stops.

The trip is planned for May 2010 and I will be leaving for John O'Groats on the 14th May (The day I passed my driving test some years ago)

The distance from John O'Groats to Lands Ends is approx 950 miles.

Other

It is very important to me that none of the money raised through doing this is used towards funding any part of my trip and this is one of the reasons why I am using justgiving.com as the single way to donate.

Finally

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blurb, any questions or enquires can be directed to my email which is: wil_49@me.com

I decided to set my target at  £1000, as it roughly works out to £1 for every mile I cycle, personally I think its good value for money :-)
