Im running in aid to raise awareness of ovarian cancer through Ovacome.My wife Andrea was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer 18mths ago,she under went 12mths of gruelling treatment and is now in remission.If detected in it`s early stages her outcome would be alot brighter.She has been so brave during the last 18mths and more people need making aware of the symptons,this disease needs making more aware to women of all ages.These symptons are,bloating,difficulty in eating and abdominal and pelvic discomfort,as many gp`s may overlook these as just menopause as they did with Andrea.Every year 4,500 women die of this disease,the survival rate in the UK is the worst in Europe,30% in 30 years with no improvement,yet ovarian cancer is the 4th most common womens cancer and affects 6800 women each year,women clearly dont get the right information.Known as the silent killer,with your help lets change these statistics.
