Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Margaret Boone (1931-2011) was a loving wife to Howard and mother to Caroline, Martin and Susie. She studied at St. Martin's School of Art from 1947 to 1951 and had a lifelong passion for creating art. She worked in many different media, in particular ceramics, paintings, prints and collages. Her pottery mainly comprised individual sculptural pieces. The subject matter of her paintings and drawings included landscapes, still life and portraits. Her collages were more abstract.

Margaret left behind a magnificent legacy of art. We have set up a website to showcase her life's work and to share it with other people:   https://margaretbooneart.wixsite.com/artworks

We are inviting donations in her memory to the Royal Star and Garter Homes. When Margaret knew she was dying she asked us, her children, to look after Howard when she was gone. Two years ago Howard moved into the Royal Star and Garter Home in Surbiton and there he has received the most excellent and loving care we could hope for. Thanks to the Royal Star and Garter Home we have been able to keep our promise to Mum. Your donations will help them to continue their outstanding work looking after disabled and elderly ex-Service personnel and their partners.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
