Most people would smile at the thought of seeing their dentist in pain, so here's your chance! On Sunday 14th June 2009 I will be taking part in the OLYMPIC DISTANCE WINDSOR TRIATHLON in order to raise money for Christopher's Childrens Hospice. I became aware of this wonderful charity a few years ago and have been wanting to help raise money for them ever since. Through the charity Chase, Christopher's Childrens Hospice provides care and support for families who's children are terminally ill. It's something most of us cant' even bear to imagine and yet each day the staff of Christophers provide a loving and safe haven for these families. Chase provides respite care so families are able to be with their precious children whilst being supported in every possible way. Chase also provides care for children who wish to remain at home throughout their illness
Christophers is a bright, brilliant and laughter filled building just outside Guildford caring for upto approximately 200 children each year. Whilst professional staff are salaried, approximately 150 people work at Christophers for nothing. THIS IS A CHARITY THAT NEEDS AND DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT SO PLEASE MAKE A DONATION TODAY.
In return I will swim 1.5km, (about a mile) cycle 25 miles and run approximately 6 miles. It's going to take around 3 hours and I set off at 6:20 am in the morning. So think of me as you tuck into breakfast that day. I need all the support I can get so come along and watch about 3000 of us in pain! We will be swimming, cycling and running through central Windsor. If you're lucky you might even be on TV as Channel 4 are filming the event!
