Thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page.
My daughter Rhiannon (pictured) was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia at the start of this year. It is a rare disease resulting in the collapse of one's immune system. This means a bone marrow transplant is vital to her rebuilding this. Since being diagonosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 4months old, Rhiannon is no stranger to hospital visits, examinations and cocktails of medication. I guess it's her outstanding bravery coping with CF that has inspired me to do this challenge because Rhiannon has shown nothing but fighting spirit since developing Aplastic Anaemia.
It is certain that she will loose her hair due to such intense treatment but she still manages to smile! Every day!
So here i am, inviting you to sponser me in one heck of a dare, for Rhiannon by Rhiannon! Yep, thats right! I am going to shave off my hair, not only to make my daughter feel more comfortable through what will be, a daunting experience but also to take an active part in developing medications and immunsations for future children who might experience situations similar to my little angel.
I am hoping to donate my hair to the children's charity 'Locks of Love'. I will keep you all updated with progress! Check this out: www.locksoflove.org
Donating through this site is totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support!! love Marie x x x
