Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to mark my 40th birthday this year, and at the same time raise some money for the military folks who've returned wounded from their duties.
To achieve this I've decided to put all my jeans to one side and wear shorts instead, but for a whole year!! Come sunshine or snow, be I at home or a formal occasion, I'll be in shorts. I’ll only be free to wear trousers again from next August, and if you can find a few quid to sponsor me for this rather notable feat I’ll be extremely grateful.
The charity I’m doing this for is “Help for Heroes” (see www.helpforheroes.org.uk). While we are all worrying about keeping our jobs these lads and lasses are facing roadside bombs, mortar attack and whatever else their jobs put in front of them. The very least any of us can do is let them know that people back home are aware of their sacrifices, and to that degree give them a little helping hand should they be returned home with serious injuries.
Having to wear shorts throughout our winter is little discomfort compared to what the injured will endure for the rest of their lives, but it’s my way of helping where I can.
