I DID IT

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for the London to Paris Cycle ride that I did between 3rd-6th September. Although my good friend Dave Sollitt and I had talked of such an event as a target for us to keep fit and lose weight it never happened.

What was different this time was unfortunately Dave's wife, Kathryn, died of cancer last year.  During her illness she received fantastic care and support from Macmillan’s nurses. Therefore I did this ride in her memory but at the same time giving something back to Macmillan’s.

Although this was also a great personal challenge for me. Being slightly overweight  I needed to lose the 'lard' and get fit to manage the average of 75 miles per day for 4 days that was required to complete the challenge.

It was hard, hard, very hard, with head on winds and rain it was a constant challenge to complete the miles. Along with sore knees, aching thighs and very painful 'bits' at times every mile were never ending. But I did it and thankful that I did so. Too all of those who spnsored me and those who are still to donate many many thanks. All monies raised go direct to Macmillans.
