WE DID IT! 

After weeks of training we managed to complete The Great North Run and in doing so, with your help, have raised over £600 for Burkina Faso.  If you haven't got round to sponsoring us, don't worry there is still time!

Mark completed the race in 1hour 41 minutes and Abi in 2 hours 51 minutes.  Our most memorable moments:

Keeing the water running!

Fresh clean drinking water is something we take for granted in the UK but it's a different story for Burkina Faso.  Located in West Africa Burkina has a population of 13 million with 60 different tribes and an average life expectancy of just 47 years.  A number of years ago money was raised to set up a few wells around the country but these are few and far between and those that are still working are in urgent need of repair.

In November 2008 Glenwood Church is hoping to send a team of people to Burkina to repair some of the old wells and dig new ones.  The money we raise from our grueling journey from Newcastle to South Shields will go towards buying the equipment needed to repair old and dig new wells giving as many people in Burkina as possible access to fresh clean water.
