Story

Hello and welcome to my insane way to raise money for Childline.

Please help me to raise at least £500 for Childline and help towards the great work they do.

Remember if I don't survive the jump, at least you'll have contributed to my headstone.

Below is a litte bit about the Charity and the event taking place

About the charity

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC

What is The Great BT Jump?

The Event

The Great BT Jump is an extreme charity skydiving event. On the Saturday 18th September, 300 BT employees will make their way to three airfields acrosss the UK, where they will jump out of planes to raising money for BT's strategic charity partner.

Tandem Skydiving

Tandem skydiving is the most popular skydiving course for first time skydivers. Absolutely no previous experience is required as all training is provided. After basic instruction of around 30 minutes you will be securely strapped to a highly skilled tandem instructor who will guide you through the entire jump. You will then be flown to around 12,000ft where you will jump out of the aircraft, immediately accelerating to a terminal velocity of over 120mph. Once in freefall your instructor will perform a series of 360 degree turns to give you a birds eye view of the Earth below. At 6,000 ft your instructor will open the parachute immediately transforming the adrenaline fuelled rush of freefall into serine peacefulness as you are safely flown to the landing area under a specially designed parachute.

The Drop Zone

The Great BT Jump is taking place at three airfields:

Chatteris Airfield (PE15 0FB)

Brigg Airfield (DN20 9NN)                <<<    This is where I will be hopefully landing safely

Banbury Airfield (NN13 5NS)
