Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In December 2002 our first daughter Amelia was born after what seemed like the longest pregnancy ever. In fact, she was born by emergency caesarean six weeks early. She had developed heart difficulties during the pregnancy and sadly was too weak to survive.
During the course of the pregnancy we made several trips to Great Ormond Street Hospital where we were seen by the foetal cardiac specialist. We experienced first hand the commitment and the care shown by the staff. We also saw many other people going through their own private hells, each one made a little easier by the GOSH staff who have to deal with this every single day.
Since she died I have always wanted to give something back. Amelia would have been 6 this December and I’ve been thinking about giving something back for long enough. So this October I’m doing the Great North Run. 13.1 miles. The furthest I’ve run since I was 16 – and believe me, I was much, much fitter then!! So please sponsor me and make the inevitable pain worthwhile. Thank you.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
