Story
Hi, my name is Martin McAllister and I have decided to do the Mexico Cycling Challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support 7-19 March 2009. My inspiration for taking part in the challenge was watching the staff and volunteers at the Macmillan Somerton House Hospice on the Antrim Road. They were so dedicated and could not do enough, even simple things which you would not simply think of. They made things so much easier for my family and I which is something that will always be remembered and appreciated.
To take part in the challenge I had to pay a £295 registration fee and have to raise at least £3,200 for the Macmillan charity so please help. On 9th July 2008 I raised my Fundraising target to £4,000 as things are going well and the higher target will keep my motivation going. On the 26th of September 2008 I have decided to raise my target to £4,500 as the following events will hopefully bring me above that. Very quickly on the 6th of October am raising my target to £5,000. Shock - now raising my target to £6,000 as a work charity sponsor of £500 going towards my challenge for Macmillan Support. Crazy but on April18 2009 I have raised my challenge total to £8,000.
Thanks to Nora Orr at work as her husbands work place sponsored £100 which is great. The Cheque has to be posted to Macmillan hence this is in the total above only as counted as an offline donation.
