Update: 07th July 2009 22:11pm: Just getting round to updating my blogsite tonight. I have to say what an amazing night we had on saturday night. The night at the races went great and Tony "Vegas" McBride was fantastic and McKeevers were brilliant hosts. Thanks to Fergal McKeever for all his support on the night. We also had an unexpected suprise on the night. Fergal's niece Kelly McKeever gave us a song and boy what a voice. Kelly sang Hallelujah and every note was sang flawlessley. I think it brought tear to a number of folks eyes during it.

The raffle was drawn in public on the night also and the three main prizes went to:

1st Gary Donaghy  - City Hotel Voucher for an overnight stay, meal for two and bottle of wine

2nd Anne-Marie Sharkey - Debenhams Hamper

3rd Barry Gormely - Mountain Bike from Claudy cycles.

I received a voucher for a microlight session from my work colleague Victor Carmichael www.flyni.co.uk. This helped me raise an additional £100 on the night.

A big thankyou to everyone who came on the night, to those who bought raffle tickets and to those who have donated thus far or even offered help and/or support.

Although my fundraising target has now been SMASHED (Thanks again) I will keep my justgiving site opened for further donations. You never know i may work alongside my Friend Gavin O'Kane who is fundraising also (www.justgiving.com/gavinokane) to help him raise his funds. If you wish to donate to Gavin go to the provided link. Thanks.

Finally i would like to say a massive big thanks to my wife Kelly for supporting me in my descision to go on the trek and the ongoing support shown by her and my boys in my efforts. Another big thanks to my sister anne-marie who had invested so much of her time in organising events for me and bringing along her many friends. Another thanks to Teresa for printing out all my raffle tickets and selling many of them, Ruth, Gerd, Mum, Dad and everyone who run around selling tickets for me.
