Story
Thank you for visiting my website.
I trained hard for the London Marathon starting early in December having won a place in the public ballot and I decided to run in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
As a District Nurse working from the Ashdown Forest Health Centre in Forest Row I am very well aware of the outstanding service St Catherine’s provide free to patients at time of need.
I am pleased to confirm that I successfully completed the London Marathon in 5 hours and 34 minutes. The day was sunny one minute and raining heavily the next. The crowds were very very supportive and helped me carry on when I felt she was running out of steam! I had hoped to run in less than 5 hours but it was more important that I finished, however long it took. There was tremendous camaraderie amongst all the runners; I found it an amazing experience! BUT I know that this was my first and last marathon, it wasn’t the run on the day but the commitment to run 5 days a week training, whatever the weather, that I found so difficult.
I do hope that you are able to donate to this very worthy cause today.
If possible please gift aid your sponsorship, since for every £1 donated the Hospice will receive £1.28
Kind regards
Mary Forsyth
