Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This autumn I took part in my first archaeological dig in the village of Doynton, near Bath. Despite the torrential rain, it was an extraordinary experience to help unearth the hypocaust system of a previously undiscovered Roman villa in the middle of a field!  Inspired by my first taste of hands-on archaeology, I am hoping to join a long-running Earthwatch excavation project in Italy this summer in the ancient Etruscan area of Populonia.  This is one of the most important active archaeological sites in Italy and the work of the Earthwatch team is dependent upon charitable donations. To raise funds I am planning to do a 40km sponsored walk this June following the Fleam Dyke and Roman Road route in Cambridgeshire. It should take me 10-12 hours, depending on pit stops and weather!  Any support you can give me would be hugely appreciated and will help fund this vital conservation work.I will be paying for my travel expenses to Italy myself.
