Story

Brighton Half Marathon Complete!

Both Charley and Will hit extremely competitive times of just over 2 hours to complete the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday.

Huge congratulations to them both on this impressive feat - Rosie would be enormously proud! Please give generously.

Original message reads:

Charley and Will have donned their running shoes too. They are bravely attempting the Brighton Half on Sunday 20th February in aid of Rosie's nominated charity the "Woolverstone Wish" (see below for details).

Please give generously - the thought of braving coastal temperatures and inevitable rain for over 21km's is enough to put anyone off

Move over Haile Gebrselassie - Chuckie's in town.

Dubai Marathon Complete! (Jaunary 21st 2011).

I am delighted to report that all runners successfully completed the Dubai Marathon on the 21st of January. Of special note should I mention James Elliot Square who managed a highly impressive sub 3.5 hours time on his first ever Marathon attempt as well as the shall we say more "venerable" Barney Mundell who posted a very respectable time of 4hours 15 minutes on also his first marathon.

Tiwari, Pickering and Clarke finished together some time after "in formation"....see pictures on the left.

Huge thanks to all our donators thus far and if you have not managed to pop a little something in as yet, please do. It is a great charity and one I am personally proud to fund raise for. Please dig deeply as the thought of another run is far from on any of our lists just now.

Original message reads:

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, my mother Rosie was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Sadly she passed away on Christmas morning and is missed enormously by family and her many friends.

Rosie was nothing short of amazing in how she remained accutely busy during her illness - working on behalf of the community with the County Council as well as tirelessly working for her favourite charity, Riding for the Disabled. She was truly one of a kind and the world is a lesser place without her.

Rosie received excellent treatment at the Ipswich Oncology Unit however the department is in urgent need of modernisation and having discussed things with Rosie, the decision was made for all donations raised from the Dubai Marathon to go to the Woolverstone Wish Fund.

The fund is still in the process of registering as an independant Charity and in the meantime is raising money as a subset of the main Ipswich Hospital Charity fund (Charity no. 1048827).

On behalf of Rosie and all runners namely: Adrian Tiwari, Barney Mundell, Matthew Pickering, James Elliot-Square & myself - please accept our enormous gratitude for your kind donation.

Please dig deeply and we'll see you on the finish line.

Yours gratefully,

Matt Clarke
