Cancer has affected most of us at some point or another tragically in a lot of cases but with happy endings in others. Unfortunately, my family has been hit on more than one occasion.

My grandad has recently been battling stomach cancer and the fight has been very hard. He has been fighting it so bravely since his diagnosis and it occured to me that, whilst my suffering in this challenge will be nothing compared to those suffering from cancer, if I could use the experience for some good, to possibly raise some money to help give more families happy endings to their cancer stories, then it will somehow be a more valid enterprise.

I originally signed up to run in the XRunner Wild Thing challenge as an excuse to get myself fit again and to push myself out of my comfort zone and to support my brother-in-law who will be joining me. I have since dragged my sister, Amy, into running this with me (hence the new, higher target) and this page is for us both.

Hopefully you can donate even a small amount to help the expert doctors, nurses and scientists to win the battle against this horrible disease.
