STEPS are a small national charity supporting children and adults affected by a lower limb condition such as clubfoot or a hip condition. Our son Noah was diagnoised with bilateral talipes at his 20 week anomaly scan. Our first port of call for Information was Steps. When Noah (and his twin sister Rosie) were born 17 weeks later, we were not surprised by the way his feet looked and we had been able to get lots of useful information from Steps. 

At 10 days of age Noah had his first plaster cast put on. His plasters were then changed weekly for the next 6 weeks and he then underwent a tenotomy, where his achillies tendion was cut, and he was put in plaster again for 3 weeks.

He then went into his boots and bar, which was a stressful time for us all. Noah coped the best of all of us!!! He had to wear them for 23 hours a day for 3 months, and now wears them for 12 hours over night. This will continue until he is 5, and he may have to undergo another operation around the age of 2.

I have always wanted to run the marathon, and when we found out that I could get a place with Steps we jumped at the chance. I will be 40 the week after the marathon, and as you can imagine with three young children, training is difficult!!!!!!!
