Story

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. The moral of the story? It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or gazelle - when the sun comes up, you'd better be running...

After many a year in Newcastle on my backside as a student I am joining forces with South Wales' finest to return to the great city in order to run around it a few times while simultaneously raising funds for the Stroke Association.

I will be spending most of the event trying to keep up with teammates Alice, Celia and David and could do with all the encouragement you can muster.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor the Pen-y-Pounders: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
