Hi and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common life-threatening, inherited disease that affects more than 7500 babies, children and young adults.
CF is a genetic disease that affects a number of organs in the body (especially the lungs and pancreas) by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe and digest food. Although average Life Expectancy of someone with CF has grown from just 5 years in the 1960's, it is still only 31 years today - my age.
Therefore I have decided that, despite not having done any exercise for 6 years and with only 5 weeks to prepare I am going to run the BUPA Great South Run on Sunday 9th October to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only national charity dedicated to helping those affected by Cystic Fibrosis. Their stated aim is to understand, treat and cure Cystic Fibrosis.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support,
Matt
