| My personal message: |
OH MY GOD ITS OVER!!! I FINISHED IN 4HRS 6MINUTES... NOT TOO BAD FOR A FIRST TIMER...
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS OVER THE MONTHS AND WHAT FEELS LIKE YEARS OF TRAINING AND FUNDRAISING...
C U AGAIN IN 2009 LOL LOL LOL.... AS IF....

Hi Guys thanks for looking in, as you can see, I've finally done it!! I've got my marathon place and I'm doing it....... OH YES! 13th April 2008... I'm petrified... BUT!! I WILL finish and hope to go the distance in under 4hours, quite a target on your first 26.2 miler....
The reason I've chosen Help the Hospices as my charity for my first marathon is 3 fold, My Mum is at present attending Harlington Hospice for her Cancer re-hab treatment and support, something I'm very close to. Secondly i lost a very dear friend to cancer this year and he benifitted from the support the Hospice organisation gave in his last days and lastly I'm unlucky enough to see more and more people around me suffering from the effects of Cancer either directly or through friends and relatives and i wanted to do something myself. So I'm giving 4 months of hard-graft training and a day of elation and hell.. Don't get me wrong i love my running, it keeps me sane but 26.2 miles is a very long way....
please don't be confused into thinking I'm an entirely healthy thirty something, I have suffered from Asthma since a very early age and get classic Migraines with alarming regularity; because of this I seriously considered running for the Migraine Trust and also for Asthma UK but through the course of 2006/2007 Cancer has crept into my life in a few very large and nasty ways, so I figured I'd give it a go and see if I could raise some cash for help the hospices.
So please give generously and force me to get out and train, make me feel guilty if i miss training session.. LOL :)
