We provide end of life care to help our patients across Dorset

Story

I'm taking part in the 2013 London Marathon in aid of Weldmar becuase each day i see the fantastic services that are available for patients and their families throughout Dorset.

As well as having worked for Weldmar for 6 years, my family sadly had to benefit from these services back in 2000 after loosing my auntie to cancer in Joseph Weld Hospice.

Many people ask 'why am i taking part in the marathon' and my answer is simple. Weldmar needs to raise £10 every minute of every day to provide these vital services which are FREE to patients and families in Dorset. That is an incredible £15,000 each day! As a fundraiser i know that times are hard to raise funds at the moment but i want to do something outside my comfort zone in the hope that my friends and family will support me by making a donation to this fantastic cause!

I know times are hard but please give what you can so Weldmar can be there for other patients and families and continue to provide the amazing care just like they gave to my family.

So in advance...Thank you!

P.S - Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Weldmar and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.
