Well Guys,

That was awesome. I can't believe I've done it. Easily the hardest task both mentally and physically I've ever faced down. Thank God I'm still alive :)

I was aiming for a 3:40 time however I made it home in 4hrs 28mins 34 seconds..officially.. in the New York Times to boot.

It was an amazing race. There were hordes of people lining the route the whole way with different cultures, sounds and colours making it a truly memorable experience. People roared you on the whole way. I found myself high fiving and roaring back for the first ten mile's till I copped on and realised I needed to reserve my strength for the arduous task ahead.

At mile 18 my quads cramped up and from then till mile 21 I walked/ran and seriously considered packing it in as all shapes and sizes of people passed me by. It was at mile 21 that I got some Icey Cold slapped on both legs and I found my running style again to pound the last five miles home.

When I crossed the line it was very emotional. You would probably have laughed if you'd seen me. But to clutch the medal was like winning the Olympics for me. I don't have many medals for achievement in life but this one really does mean the world to me.
